ONLY IN NEW YORK. Adidas bought a ten year sponsorship of the New York Yankee franchise. The Only In New York campaign was designed to endear adidas to the New York Yankee fan. The YANKS guys and the rest of the campaign became an icon of popular culture in New York for years. They marched in the victory parade after winning the Yankees won the World Series and they even became a counterfeit unofficial T-shirt, sold on Canal Street–a true sign you made it to New York pop-culture status.
